Students of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) have been advised to pay their school fees through the proper and right channels to prevent being duped.


The advice came during the Senate meeting of Thursday April 29, 2021 when the Chairman of Senate Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele informed members that the University Management was disturbed over the frequent reports from fresh students about how they were defrauded of their school fees.

He advised them to go to the University ICT Centre and other designated Business Centres approved by the University Authority and to ask questions when in doubt.

The Vice-Chancellor of IAUE Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele also advised staff to be security conscious and to watch their environment.

He thanked staff for commitment and sacrifices made towards the success story recorded by the institution and added that plans were on top gear towards sourcing for more staff to reduce the workload of lecturers in some new departments.

Professor Ndimele also informed members that the university was expecting another set of National Universities Commission (NUC) Officials for accreditation of its 26 Programmes and commended staff for ensuring that the 19 programmes scaled through during the last NUC accreditation visit.

On sporting activities, the Chief Executive appealed to lecturers to allow students representing the university in various sporting activities to go for competitions and to ensure that examinations missed are administered to them upon their return as they were rendering services to the university.

He noted that IAUE students were doing very well, making the institution proud and playing in international clubs at Russian and Fulham and called for encouragement.

The Chairman of Senate remarked that it was a thing of great joy that the university programmes were attracting prominent personalities and urged staff to be grateful to God for such corporate students and for HIS kindness towards the institution.
