This year's JAMB registration is going to take a new dimension as the intending candidates are expected to have enrolled in the National Identification Card program in order to get their National Identification Number NIM. According to Joint Matriculation And Examination Board, JAMB, there is no going back in the use of NIN, even the staff of the body were mandated to enroll in the process, JAMB wishes to eliminate the issues of double registration and impersonation and also to speed up the registration processes. Even as the House of Representative has asked the body to back down on the plan of using the National Identification Number as a major requirement for registration for next year examination as a result of slow capturing of the students by National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) the body responsible for registration of national identity card. From all indications, JAMB are not ready to shift grounds on this .
The registration processes is expected to last for six weeks once the portal is opened, students are expected to fill in their information accurately and make use of authorized CBT centers that are close to them.
