Serbia vs Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix and Luka Jovic fight for goals

Portugal are the current European champions and the holders of the Nations League title, but they haven't had the best start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

Home draws have come against Ukraine and Serbia, yet ahead of the return clash with the latter, Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix and Luka Jovic are set to battle for goals.

The three are the most prolific goalscorers on the pitch in either side, and it's difficult to imagine the difference being made by anyone other than the aforementioned trio.
Fernando Santos is now under pressure to obtain a good result in Belgrade to ensure
Portugal don't suffer an embarrassing qualification campaign.

In the case of not qualifying for Euro 2020, Portugal have the safety net of a playoff to get into the tournament courtesy of their Nations League triumph, however that isn't an eventuality that the camp wish to consider.

Whilst Ronaldo and Felix are expected to dovetail like they did against Switzerland early in the summer, Jovic is much more an isolated figure in the current Serbian setup.

Most of the team's goals are expected to come through him and he has scored twice in his last three international appearances.

It will also be an interest occasion for Ljubisa Tumbakovic , who was the coach of Partizan when they faced Sporting CP and a teenage Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2002.

"In 2002 I was coaching
Partizan and we played
Sporting CP , they had a 17-year-old boy who now has been at the top of football for more than a decade, it's incredible," Tumbakovic
explained.

A poor return of just four points from three matches also leaves Serbia perilously close to failure in this campaign, making it a must-win for both teams.
